What to wear at your photoshoot:

One of the most common questions I get from my clients is, "What do I wear at my photoshoot?" At the end of the day, the decision of what you wear is totally up to you, but I always love to share my suggestions!

The most important thing to consider when it comes to styling outfits for a shoot is to coordinate and compliment between you the other members included in the photos.

For example, if one of you is going to wear a patterned item then choose a solid colour within a similar scheme for the other individual to wear.

This shot of my client and her daughter is a perfect example of how to blend your outfits between solids and patterns so that it doesn't feel too busy.

Dresses are super fun as they create texture and movement! If you're ever unsure with what you should do with your hands, wear a dress and you will have tons of options. You can play with the skirt, spin around or throw the material in the wind.

If you're struggling to find a colour palette that you like then I would suggest to focus on having neutral scheme. I am always an advocate for neutral outfits and earthy tones. They are easy to coordinate with multiple outfits and help you stand out in a variety of locations. Lastly, you can never go wrong with a classic black and white staple.

Feel free to be creative with accessories! Don't be shy to bring along a hat or scarf to add texture and layers to our outfit.

Another bonus about adding layers like hats, light jackets or scarfs is that they help with posing! Figuring out what to do with your hands during photos can honestly be one of the hardest parts about posing. When you have an accessory though, it's easy to rest your hands on your scarf or naturally tilt your hat! Trust me when I say having accesories to play with during your shoot will be a total game-changer.

And even if you're not too sure about using accessories for the whole shoot, the best part about them is that you don't need a change room to switch things up! Just toss me your accessories and we can put them to the side!
